Two Vols named to Wooden Award Midseason Watch List

Two Tennessee basketball players named to Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 Watch List.

Two Vols have been named to the John R. Wooden Award Midseason Top 25 Watch List.

Fifth-year guard Chaz Lanier and senior guard Zakai Zeigler were on the list, which was released Tuesday by the Los Angeles Athletic Club. Inclusion on the list indicates players are predicted to potentially be a a candidate for the Wooden Award All-America Team and Most Outstanding Player of the Year Award.

Lanier is averaging 19.6 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game for the No. 1 ranked Vols, while Zeigler is averaging 11.6 points, 7.5 assists and 3.6 rebounds per contest this season.

Former Vol Dalton Knecht, the 2024 SEC Player of the Year, was a finalist for the award last season.
