Preseason All-American lists aren’t just for college football. Two Oklahoma commits were named preseason All-Americans by USA TODAY Sports.

Preseason All-American lists aren’t just for college football.

Not all of the states are playing high school football in the fall, but are planning for the spring. Despite that, USA TODAY Sports has released its preseason All-American lists ahead of the 2020 high school football season.

Oklahoma is represented on the list with two 2021 commits being named preseason All-Americans.

Five-star and No. 1 overall quarterback Caleb Williams was named a first-team quarterback alongside Auburn commit and Texas’ native Dematrius Davis. Williams, a Washington D.C., native, committed to the Sooners on July 4. He is the second No. 1 overall quarterback to commit to Oklahoma in the last three recruiting cycles (Spencer Rattler, 2019).

Four-star cornerback and top-100 recruit Latrell McCutchin also made the first-team. The Austin, Texas, native, committed to the Sooners on the same day as Williams on July 4.

Oklahoma target and five-star wide receiver Emeka Egbuka was also named a first-team All-American. The Sooners are in a recruiting battle with Ohio State, Washington and Clemson for his commitment. He would join fellow five-star wide receiver Mario Williams in Oklahoma’s recruiting class.

The Sooners currently have 13 commitments in the 2021 recruiting class and are ranked 16th in the country.
