Two future Ohio State hockey players taken in 2020 NHL Draft

Two future Ohio State hockey players were taken in the 2020 NFL Draft. Mason Lohrei and Jakub Dobeš both heard their names called.

Mason Lohrei

“Lohrei, who is from Verona, Wis., played for the Green Bay Gamblers in the USHL in 2019-20 and is returning to the team this upcoming season. He had 37 points, with 29 assists, in 48 games in 2019-20. Lohrei played for Culver Military Academy before joining the Gamblers. In 2018-19, he had a 4-23-27 line in 42 games with Culver and also played nine games with Green Bay.”

Jakub Dobeš

“Dobeš, from Vitkovice, Czech Republic, played in 21 games with the Omaha Lancers in the USHL in 2019-20, with a 3.09 goals-against average and .891 save percentage and is slated to return to the Lancers in 2020-21. He saw action in 10 games with the Topeka Pilots in the NAHL, recording a 1.59 goals-against average and .946 save percentage last season. Dobeš played two seasons with the St. Louis AAA Blues and was an All-Metro Hockey selection for De Smet Jesuit High School.”
