Two former Giants sign with Raiders

Two former members of the New York Giants signed with the Oakland Raiders on Wednesday.

The Oakland Raiders made a series of transactions on both Tuesday and Wednesday in what was otherwise a significant late-season overhaul, and two of their incoming players were recently members of the New York Giants.

Those players were defensive lineman Olsen Pierre and tight end Eric Tomlinson.

Tomlinson had been signed by the Giants in early September, but he was later waived when the Giants were forced to re-sign linebacker Nate Stupar in late September.

In three games with the Giants this season, Tomlinson did not catch a single pass, but he did record three special teams tackles.

Meanwhile, Pierre was signed in early March just after the start of free agency. He was expected to have a significant rotational role, but eventually found himself bumped out.

In nine games for the Giants this season, Pierre recorded eight tackles, one stuff and two sacks. He was waived in early November when the team promoted offensive lineman Evan Brown, who is now a member of the Miami Dolphins.
