Following the win over Wake Forest on the road, the UNC football program moved to 9-1 on the year and clinched the coastal division. With the Tar Heels punching their ticket to Charlotte for the ACC championship game in a few weeks, they are hoping that game can be a top-10 matchup.
But for now, UNC will have to settle for being outside of the top 10.
The Tar Heels moved up just two spots from No. 15 to No. 13 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings that were released after Week 11 on Tuesday. UNC finds themselves behind No. 12 Oregon, No. 11 Penn State, No. 10 Utah, and No. 9 Clemson among others.
Right now, UNC appears road blocked in its slim hopes to get a spot in the College Football Playoff. It was slim, already. However, the No. 13 ranking drew up some chatter on Reddit after the release.
