The Tennessee Titans made a stunning move on Tuesday, as the team announced it had fired general manager Jon Robinson.

Now, that’s not to say that Robinson wasn’t in hot water at all, but the team did just sign him to a multi-year extension this past offseason, and the fact that Tennessee did it during the season makes it even more shocking.

The Titans are currently 7-5 and on their way to another AFC South title, but there’s no question this team isn’t built for much more than winning one of the worst divisions in the NFL — and that’s on Robinson.

With Robinson gone, the Titans will now turn to vice president of player personnel, Ryan Cowden, who will take over for the rest of the year.

However, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel is expected to have “significant power” over personnel decisions moving forward, per Aaron Wilson of KPRC2.

As you’d expect, shock was the theme after Robinson’s firing.
