After frustrating a large contingent of their fanbase in the second round, the Los Angeles Rams finally addressed one of their biggest needs in Round 3. At No. 84 overall, the Rams drafted Terrell Lewis, an outside linebacker from Alabama.
The reaction to this pick was a stark contrast to the Twitter responses after the Rams drafted a running back and wide receiver in Round 2, with the large majority of fans being pleased with the selection.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the Rams drafting Lewis at No. 84.
Terrell Lewis to the #Rams at 84 is one of the biggest steals of the draft. Was ranked 28th overall on my board. Has first round pass rush ability, when healthy.

Rams roll the dice on edge rusher Terrell Lewis of Alabama. He's a huge talent who's been injured like crazy. Lots of NFL teams were scared off.

Best value thus far https://t.co/3PtSHlKV5v

If Terrell Lewis can stay healthy, the Rams just got Chandler Jones, Jr.

Great pick for the Rams

I'm fine with the Terrell Lewis pick. Tons of explosion and a great body for a pass rusher. Lots of traits shown on tape too. Just needs to be much more consistent and needs to stay healthy more than anything. I like it! https://t.co/rmjx2ioRjU

There’s the edge rusher for the Rams!

As much as Iike the Lewis pick, important to note that he’s a rotational player at this stage in the process. Injuries a legit concern, but he’s the most talented rusher outside of Donald by a lot, imo.

Rams defense still needs more pieces. Terrell Lewis is one of the best case scenarios in round 3 to start.

With the losses of Dante Fowler Jr. and Clay Matthews at EDGE for the #Rams, Terrell Lewis has a clear path to early PT in Los Angeles.
Still a raw skill set due to injuries, but the size, length and athleticism are all there to make him an effective pro. Good value.
