Twitter reacts to news Bears RB David Montgomery will miss 4-5 weeks with knee sprain

Bears RB David Montgomery will miss 4-5 weeks with a knee sprain. For the most part, fans were relieved his injury wasn’t worse.

The Bears will be without running back David Montgomery for awhile after he was diagnosed with a knee sprain that’s expected to sideline him for 4-5 weeks.

It’s not good news, but it’s not bad news either, which is the important thing. When Montgomery was writhing in pain on the ground during Sunday’s game against the Lions, we all feared the worst — a season-ending knee injury.

The Bears will now turn to Damien Williams and Khalil Herbert in Montgomery’s absence. While they’ll be ready to take on the load, Montgomery’s absence will certainly be felt.

For the most part, Bears fans were relieved that Montgomery’s injury wasn’t worse or season-ending, especially given how things looked in the moment. But there are also some concerned fantasy owners and Bears fans wondering what how this Chicago offense will get through its toughest stretch of the schedule without their best offensive player.
