It was the same episode that all Chargers fans are used to, watching their favorite team suffer defeat in the final seconds as Broncos kicker Brandon McManus hit the game-winning field goal from 53 yards out.
McManus was in that position because cornerback Casey Hayward was hit with a head-scratching defensive pass interference penalty on a deep pass that was intended to wide receiver Courtland Sutton.
It caused outrage as many made the argument that DPI should have never been called. With nothing that could be done, Los Angeles watched as the ball went through the uprights, knowing that they dropped yet another game by a single possession.
Here is how social media reacted to the Chargers’ 23-20 loss to the Broncos.
Nobody loses more heartbreakers than the Chargers.

Every time I think I’ve seen the strangest Chargers finish/loss possible, they prove me wrong.

Every Chargers game is like the last episode of Game of Thrones.

Tanking is better for the draft, but the Chargers also have quite a few players entering free agency over the next few years. Need to be able to evaluate them as well.

You have to respect how the #Chargers find so many different ways to lose

Name another team which reinvents more ways to lose than the #Chargers

Kudos to the Chargers. It had been a whole 6 days since they invented a new way to lose.

No team finds more tortured and different ways to lose than the Chargers. Unreal. Feel so awful for thier fans.

me: “I’ve seen the Chargers lose every single kind of close game.”
Chargers: not so fast my friend

Chargers games are like SAW movies. They are predictable and get more outrageous every time, to the point that they are almost comical. But I still can't look away.#LACvsDEN

Unbelievable. The Broncos & Chargers have the same record that’s how bad this team has been. Who wants to place bets on the unique way the Chargers lose next week?
