The Denver Broncos selected Penn State wide receiver K.J. Hamler in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft on Friday evening. Here’s a sampling of how Twitter reacted to the pick:
We’ve taken WR KJ Hamler from Penn State with the 46th overall pick. He’s an electric player with excellent speed and high character.
KJ’s also an outstanding kickoff and punt returner who can help us on special teams. pic.twitter.com/kPkbjuKg5w

It’s going to be a true test on Pat Shurmur calling this offense this year. If he doesn’t have atleast two wide receivers with 1000 yards and Fant with at least 700 yards. The broncos will be shopping for another OC next year. These picks are great as long as the OC can adapt 🤔

KJ Hamler said at the combine he ran a 4.27 40 while training. He tweaked his hamstring while doing so, which is why he didn't run in Indy.

Well I didn’t see that coming. Elway drafts KJ Hamler, another WR after taking one yesterday. Would have like to see him address the OLine especially since BOTH Josh Jones and Ezra Cleveland were still there. I don’t like this pick but am willing to be receptive to who he’ll be.

The optimists will point to Hamler's speed and that he's a deep threat.
Here's the thing, his catch radius and hands take some of that off the table. He's not a guy that will win contested catches downfield. Lock will need to be accurate to connect with him on 20+ yard passes.

Vertical speed and return ability. https://t.co/WtkP8LXL6v

I feel like Denver is falling into the little brother syndrome with the Chiefs in the division. Feels like they're trying way too hard to be exactly like KC.
Not a fan of Hamler at #46

The Broncos are going to be pretty good this year if Drew Lock is up to the task.

Denver has three more picks (Nos. 77, 83, 95) to use in the third round.
