After waiting hours to make their first selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears only had to wait less than 30 minutes for their next pick. With the 50th and final pick in the second round, the Bears selected cornerback Jaylon Johnson out of Utah.

Johnson immediately fills a void at the cornerback position, left by the release of veteran Prince Amukamara in February. He’s an athletic playmaker in the secondary, but has some health concerns following offseason shoulder surgery. Johnson joins Notre Dame tight end Cole Kmet as the Bears other second round selection.

Still processing the team’s selection of Kmet minutes earlier, fans and experts across Twitter had plenty of reactions to the Johnson pick and most of them were positive.

Barring an unexpected trade, the Bears are finished selecting for the night and will resume on Saturday as they’re next scheduled pick is in the fifth round, No. 163 overall.
