Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields made his highly-anticipated preseason debut against the Miami Dolphins on Saturday, where we got a look at Chicago’s future franchise quarterback in action.
Following a sluggish start, Fields settled into a nice rhythm, where he led the Bears on three straight scoring drives, including an eight-yard rushing touchdown and a 30-yard touchdown to tight end Jesse James, in a 20-13 win over the Dolphins.
It was only one preseason game — and it probably won’t be enough to convince Matt Nagy to change his mind about Andy Dalton starting, at least right now — but there’s no denying Fields’ talent, where he has the potential to be a star quarterback in this league. Whenever that may be.
Naturally, Twitter had plenty to say about Fields’ debut, which included some overreaction but plenty of excitement for Fields’ future with the Bears.
