Oh, how the turn tables.
There were jokes abound throughout the season that Michigan basketball would have to settle for the NIT, and while it looked a surefire deal a week ago that the Wolverines would make the NCAA Tournament, the maize and blue had to sweat a little bit.
Most of the projections had Michigan as a play-in team, but ultimately, the maize and blue got a bye, coming in as an 11-seed, while having a favorable matchup against 6-seed Colorado State, in a favorable location, in Indianapolis.
Naturally, many of the Twitter reactions were that of glee, but there’s also an enthusiasm due to the matchup. Here are some of the best that we could find.
