When Sabrina Ionescu does stuff like this, does anyone get surprised anymore.
Personal story: I was doing some chores around the house on Friday afternoon and I happened to walk by the TV, which was turned to ESPN. Ionescu was being handed the 3-point contest trophy after apparently having had won the competition.
“That’s awesome, good for her,” I thought, not at all surprised by the news.
Then I watched the replay and saw that she broke the WNBA record for most points in a single round with 37, missing only two of the 27 shots in the entire round.
“That seems about right,” I thought.
Oregon Duck fans are accustomed to this type of behavior from Sabrina. During her time in Eugene, she routinely broke records left and right, and she continues to do so with the New York Liberty at the WNBA level.
