ANN ARBOR, Mich. — After losing two straight games to Michigan State, the Wolverines ended the streak on Saturday.

Michigan football defeated Michigan State, 29-7, to improve to 8-0 and keep its undefeated season alive.

The Wolverines led 13-7 at the half, but the second half belonged to Michigan. The Wolverines outgained MSU, 443-252, and Michigan had 27 first downs to the Spartans’ 11 overall.

Michigan demolished the Spartans if you look at the stats. MSU mustered 37 rushing yards during the game, and the Spartans were stuffed twice when trying to run on fourth and short.

The only negative to the game for Michigan was it settled for five field goals, including three from the red zone. Two of those came inside the MSU 5-yard line.

But the Michigan defense dominated, and the Wolverines did what they needed to beat the struggling Spartans.
