Twitter is mocking Matt Nagy for believing he knows what he’s doing

“We know what we’re doing.” The context doesn’t matter, because those are actual words that Matt Nagy uttered.

The Fire Matt Nagy train has been full steam ahead this week following his worst outing as the Bears’ offensive play caller in last Sunday’s loss to the Browns.

“We know what we’re doing.”

No matter the context, it doesn’t matter. Because those are actual words that Nagy uttered in his press conference on Friday. And his actions over the last week — heck, the last three years — are evidence to the contrary.

Nagy has come under fire this week following his usage of rookie Justin Fields and his overall inability to build a game plan around him. Add to that Nagy refuses to acknowledge if he’s handing over play-calling duties to offensive coordinator Bill Lazor for a second time and Nagy choosing to make the starting quarterback a game-time decision for gamesmanship purposes.

When Twitter got ahold of that Nagy quote, they really let him have it. And it’s hard to say Nagy doesn’t deserve it at this point, especially as his seat is the hottest it’s ever been.
