Twitter erupts as Justin Fields is named the Bears’ starting QB vs. Browns

Justin Fields was announced as the Bears’ starting QB vs. Browns, and Twitter went crazy.

It seemed like a foregone conclusion, but Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy made it official on Wednesday when he announced rookie quarterback Justin Fields will make his first NFL start on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.

Fields starts in place of Andy Dalton, who suffered a bone bruise in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Dalton exited the game and Fields took over, going 6-for-13 with 60 yards and one interception.

Throughout the week, Bears Twitter was a powder keg that was ready to blow if/when the announcement was made. They didn’t disappoint.
