One of the biggest storylines leading up to the NFL Draft has been this: Where will Tua end up? Many mock drafts have Tagovailoa landing in Miami, while others see him going to Detroit. But when Tua was asked by Steve Wyche in an interview “is there any team you’re looking at like man, I’f be good in that system?” Tua had a surprising answer.

“If you’re saying to me, if I can choose what team I want to play on, as far as my favorite team growing up, then I probably tell you the Cowboys, but they are so far down….“I’m not trying to bump him. I’ll learn under him (Prescott), I’d handle it the way that the coaches there want to handle it. Honestly, I just want to be able play again. I wouldn’t mind learning under whatever guy that’s the starter. Give me a whole year to rest up and then go back out and compete, but I just want to go back out and play.”
Just to point out the obvious, Tagovailoa was simply answering a question, He knows that the Cowboys won’t be where he probably lands, especially sine they have the 17th overall pick and don’t need a quarterback.
The interview also shares the reasoning behind his choice to enter the draft as well as his journey throughout football.
One of the best parts? When he shares how as a 4th grader, he was participating in a high school football camp.
Before he endured his season ending injury against Mississippi State, Tagovailoa was still able to rack up 2,840 passing yards, 33 TDs, and only 3 INT this season.
In his career, Tagovailoa threw for 7, 442 yards, 87 touchdowns, and 11 INT.
