Trojans Wired women’s basketball podcast before USC’s NCAA Tournament

USC’s loss in the Women’s Pac-12 Tournament was ugly. There are lessons to learn before the Trojans play in the NCAA Tournament.

The USC women’s basketball team will play in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, and that’s what matters most. However, the Trojans’ loss in the Women’s Pac-12 Tournament to Oregon State was a rough one. The Trojans continued to shoot poorly. They committed far too many fouls and allowed far too many free throws in the fourth quarter. They fell into a number of traps they will need to guard against when they play in the NCAA Tournament.

USC has a few core strengths, and the Trojans have shown that when one or more of those strengths don’t fully show up, their other weaknesses can cost them dearly. Head coach Lindsay Gottlieb and assistant coach Beth Burns have a lot of work to do before USC’s return to the Big Dance for the first time since 2014.
