Trio of Vols departing basketball program

Three Tennessee players are leaving the Vols’ basketball program.

Three student-athletes have announced they are departing Tennessee’s men’s basketball program.

Freshman Jaden Springer will sign with an agent and declare for the 2021 NBA draft.

The 2021 NBA draft will take place on July 29. The NBA draft lottery takes place on June 22, while the combine will be held June 21-27.

Sophomores Davonte Gaines and Drew Pember have also entered the NCAA transfer portal.

The Vols finished the 2020-21 season 18-9 (10-7 SEC), losing in the first-round of the NCAA Tournament to Oregon State.
