One of the common things you’ll read coming out of Tennessee Titans practices this offseason is just how different 2022 first-round pick and wideout Treylon Burks is.

Per beat writers on the ground, not only does Burks look to be in great shape after struggling with conditioning issues last year, but he’s also projecting more confidence and comfort on the field.

After practice on Wednesday, Burks admitted he is not only feeling more confident, but his confidence is “out the roof.”

“My confidence is out the roof,” Burks said, per Jim Wyatt of Titans Online. “I would say I am playing fast, physical, and not thinking too much. I feel like all those things are showing, and I’m just getting better each day.”

“I just feel like I am just going out there and having fun, playing with my teammates,” he added. “I am just doing my job, and having fun doing it.”

Burks’ increased confidence has been noticeable to his teammates and head coach, with Kevin Byard and Mike Vrabel both commenting on it during mandatory minicamp.

“Treylon looks like a different beast this year for sure,” Byard said of Burks. “I just think he’s playing with a lot of confidence. I really like that from him, taking that next step. We’re going to need him to take that next step this year, to be that guy.”

“I think he’s much more confident in himself, in his body and how he feels, what he’s doing, what this league is like, what the routine is like, the daily approach,” Vrabel said of the young wideout. His attitude has been fantastic, so we’ll have to continue to do those things between Year 1 and Year 2.

As Byard pointed out, the Titans are going to need a big year out of Burks if they want to have success in the passing game. A boost in confidence will go a long way to helping the second-year wideout do just that.
