Trey Hendrickson showed so much earnest concern for Trevor Lawrence after his accidental injury

Trey Hendrickson seems like such a good person.

Pro football is played between incredibly fast and large human beings.

At a certain point, getting hurt is understood as an inevitability by everyone who plays the game. But that doesn’t mean anyone wants to see someone get injured, even if they’re an opponent. The game is about strategically moving a ball up and down a grass grid, not inflicting physical pain.

The Cincinnati Bengals’ Trey Hendrickson seems to take this sentiment to heart.

After Trevor Lawrence’s scary ankle injury on Monday Night Football, Hendrickson tried to help the Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback to his feet. When Lawrence fell back down to the ground, Hendrickson took a solemn knee and resigned himself to hoping the quarterback would be OK:

Just because football is a physical and punishing game doesn’t mean you can’t show concern for fellow human beings. Hendrickson is a perfect example. I’m sure he’ll love hearing that Lawrence’s injury turned out to be a high ankle sprain because it looked much worse upon initial review.
