Trevor Lawrence’s poor clock management that took Jaguars points off the board had NFL fans fuming

What was Trevor Lawrence doing here?

This is certainly not a sequence that will show up on Trevor Lawrence’s highlight reel, that’s for sure.

With the Jacksonville Jaguars facing a 10-0 deficit against the Baltimore Ravens before halftime on Sunday Night Football, Lawrence had the opportunity to engineer a perfect scoring drive to end the half. The pieces were all there on the two-minute drill after Lawrence hit Zay Jones with a nice 36-yard pass that put the Jaguars at the five-yard line.

However, with 23 seconds left and counting, Lawrence didn’t spike the ball to give the Jaguars a few plays to get into the end zone. Instead, Lawrence called a play from the shotgun — an in-bounds pass to Parker Washington — that allowed the clock to wind down to end the half, effectively taking points off the board for Jacksonville.

That’s quite the mistake from Lawrence, especially because the Ravens got the ball as the second half began. Getting points to cut the lead to 10-3 or even 10-7 should have been a priority for the Jaguars, especially in a game as close as this.

Instead, Lawrence made a horrific gaffe that left points on the board in a key spot. Here’s how NFL fans reacted to Lawrence’s poor clock management that killed a late-half drive against the Ravens.
