The 2021 NFL draft will be somewhat back to normal this year, with a big event in Cleveland, where fans will be present.
One person who won’t be there? Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, the presumptive No. 1 overall pick.
Lawrence has declined the NFL’s invitation to attend the festivities in person, and will instead watch the event with friends and family on campus at Clemson, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Last year’s event was completely virtual, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s version is expected to have some of the top prospects in attendance, as usual, but that list won’t include the first name we’re likely to hear called.
