Boston Celtics two way point guard Tremont Waters continues to wreck shop at the G League level, coming away with a near triple-double in the Maine Red Claws win over the Long Island Nets Friday.
The 118-114 win over the Brooklyn Nets’ G League affiliate was a close affair with Waters having to face Long Island without fellow two way player Tacko Fall.
The Senegalese big man was with the parent club to help bolster Boston’s thin frontcourt rotation in the Celtics win against the Orlando Magic, though he would ultimately not be called on to play.
The Connecticut native carried the load for the Claws in Fall’s absence well, however, logging 23 points, 11 assists, 8 boards and 5 steals against the Nets on 9-of-16 shooting.
He did have a little help from Celtics lottery pick Romeo Langford, who put up 11 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in the road win for Maine.
The Red Claws next face the Westchester Knicks at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, New York at 6pm ET today, Jan. 25.
