The Texas A&M basketball program has seen its fair share of ups and downs coming off of one of its best seasons in program history ending with a record of 27-13 and 9-9 in SEC play. After frustratingly being left out of the NCAA tournament at the end of the regular season, Buzz Williams is now a man on a mission to build the 2022-23 Aggie basketball squad into a contender once again, and hopefully an NCAA tournament participant.
To achieve those goals, Williams must find replacements for the recent departures of Hassan Diarra and Aaron Cash who both entered the transfer portal in April. However, transfer forwards Andersson Garcia and Julius Marble committed to the Aggies on Monday, and it seems like a trend is starting in the portal as Witchita State transfer Dexter Dennis has placed Texas A&M in his “Final 6” teams, competing with the likes of Texas, Indiana, Kansas State, Vanderbilt, and Clemson.

Dennis, standing at 6’5″, 210lb, hails from Baker, Louisiana, and averaged over 30 minutes per game, 8.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists during the 2021-2022 season with the shockers. Offensively, Dennis is a reliable scorer inside and out, who averaged a 35.0% field goal percentage and a 29.7 percent three-point percentage for the year.
The Aggies need depth at the guard position, and with four years of starting experience for one of the best basketball programs in the county, Dexter Dennis would be a great addition to the Aggies basketball squad in the quest to reach the big dance.
