Welcome to the new, chaotic, and out-of-control world of college football. The transfer portal has taken over the sport and one could argue has the singular most impact on the game than any other part of the puzzle.
On Wednesday, the Alabama Crimson Tide felt its impact with a total of nine players opting to enter the transfer portal.
While that number is high and likely raised an eyebrow or two, fans of the Crimson Tide should not be shocked, alarmed, or even concerned. This is simply a product of the times and should be considered the new norm of the college football offseason.
You may not like it, you may not think it is right, but it is now the reality in which we live. Student-athletes now have more power and control than ever and they are taking full advantage of that.
Truth be told, the roster needed some open space for scholarship purposes and it is likely the Tide is not done with portal entries. Do not fret, [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] has proven time and time again that nobody adapts to the ever-changing landscape of college football better than he does.
