One of the top pass rushers remaining in the transfer portal will be taking a trip to Lincoln in early April. Ochaun Mathis, formerly of TCU, announced on his Twitter page that he will be visiting the University of Nebraska for the spring game on April 9th. Mathis had 45 tackles and 4 sacks in 2021 and played in 38 total games in Fort Worth where he complied 135 tackles and 15.5 sacks.
Mathis has named his top five remaining schools and Nebraska will have to compete against Texas, USC, Ole Miss, and Penn State for the former Horned Frog. The 6’5″ 257-pound defensive end/outside linebacker would fill a vital need for a Husker pass rush that finished near the bottom of the Big Ten in sacks with only 20 for the year. April 9th is now showing to be a big day in Lincoln, not just for the future of the offense with QB recruit Dylan Raiola stopping in for a visit but it’s now proving to be a big day for the defense as well.
Heading out to Lincoln Nebraska for an official next week! Definitely looking forward to it! 🌽🌽🌽#Huskers
