Thomas did not have the greatest Sixers career. He drew the ire of coach Larry Brown more often than not, but he did average 11.0 points as a rookie and 9.8 points overall before the Sixers flipped him to the Milwaukee Bucks in 1999. He shot 35.3% from deep with Philadelphia as he did serve a purpose on that team as a floor spacer.
