3. Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers have seemingly found their guy in the No. 6 overall selection from the 2020 NFL draft, former Oregon Heisman-finalist Justin Herbert.
Herbert got his chance to shine when the season-opening starter, Tyrod Taylor, had a freak incident occur with team doctors puncturing his lung. He’s since been sidelined on the final year of his two-year deal with Los Angeles.
With no other backup quarterback currently on the active roster, the Chargers may look to bring one in through free agency. With a rookie like Herbert, it may be wise to bring in a veteran that’s traveled around the league – almost treat McCarron like a much younger Ryan Fitzpatrick and the role he served for Tua Tagovailoa.
