4. Chicago Bears
The Bears have already announced that they will be declining Mitchel Trubisky’s fifth-year option, leaving only Nick Foles at the helm of the franchise. Foles, however, is only signed through the 2021 season. Given their unique situation at quarterback, one would hope they’d be able to draft a quarterback in the upcoming draft.
Well, the Bears are 5-5 and in the running for a mid-round draft pick. This means they will have to trade up into the top ten to select a highy touted, presumed immediate-starter level quarterback.
Bringing in McCarron would allow for Foles to have a solid backup in place, which gives the front office more time to figure out who the quarterback of the future will be.
Also, the Bears are already having issues ensuring that they will be under the salary cap for 2021, so McCarron could be a quick, inexpensive option to fill the role.
