One of the 2025 recruits that Kentucky basketball has been in contact with is forward Tounde Yessoufou. The Wildcats were one of a number of teams who have spoken with the West African native.
Yessoufou is a top 25 player on 247sports composite rankings. The 6’6″, 210 lb forward has a lot of teams interested in him, and has even taken a visit to the Washington Huskies already.
Kentucky Sports Radio recently spoke to Yessoufou and he had some thoughts on Kentucky basketball.
Nobody in my family ever played basketball, I just saw it and loved it. I knew I wanted to put my heart into it. Coming to the United States, Kentucky was definitely the main thing I watched on social media and doing my research.
Yessoufou also gave his thoughts on Kentucky fans.
You can tell it’s a great environment with the fans, everybody loves it. I have no idea how many people are in (Rupp Arena) during those games, but it’s a lot. And not only the campus, but outside the campus, I just love being around people like that.
Wildcats fans are certainly known as one of college basketball’s best fanbases. More than one recruit has mentioned it when talking about Kentucky. Mark Pope is hoping it helps get some of these top recruits to Lexington.
