Top 125 recruit Bryce Dortch recaps Rutgers basketball official visit

Bryce Dortch is one of the top players in the 2024 recruiting class. He just took an official visit to Rutgers.

Bryce Dortch is coming off an official visit to the Rutgers men’s basketball program that he says helped deepen his relationship with the program.

And not just his relationship, but the relationship his parents have with the program as well.

A class of 2024 recruit, Dortch is a 6-foot-7 forward at Brimmer & May School (Chestnut Hill, MA). He is ranked theNo. 125 player in the nation according to Rivals.

His offer list includes UMass, Providence, Seton Hall, Temple, Texas A&M, VCU and Virginia Tech along with several other programs.

Saying that the “visit was good,” Dortch saw his weekend official visit as helpful in his relationship with Rutgers.

“I got a better understanding on how the coaches would use me,” Dortch said.

“(Also), my parents saw the facilities and campus.”

Interacting with the Rutgers staff, who Dortch communicates with frequently and regularly, was something that was furthered during the course of the weekend.

“I spent the most time with coach T.J. Thompson but it was great (overall),” Dortch said. “I got to be with a lot of the staff.”

His parents being on campus was a major reason why Dortch wanted to take the official visit to Rutgers.

“They liked how the staff communicated,” Dortch said. “How they would use me and made it clear what my future would look like if I were to commit.”

Dortch said he might possibly take an official visit to Temple or Virginia Tech this summer.

There is some comfort for the recruit when it comes to being on campus. Last September, Dortch took an unofficial visit to Rutgers as well.
