Tom Izzo returns to practice for first time since positive COVID-19 test

Tom Izzo has returned to Michigan State’s practices after self-quarantining due to a positive COVID-19 test result.

Tom Izzo has returned to basketball activities for the first time since his positive COVID-19 test on Nov. 9. Dwayne Stephens was in charge of the practices during Izzo’s absence. With the first game of the season on Wednesday, this doesn’t give Izzo much time to sync back up with the players.

Tom Izzo addressed the media and gave a statement below:

The biggest note from this statement is that he warns us against the virus saying, “This virus is no joke and everyone must take this seriously.” He mentioned how hard it was for him to be away from the team, but that he knew he needed to isolate with all of the challenges of this virus.
