Tom Brady sends his congratulations to a retiring Julian Edelman with emotional Instagram message

Tom Brady gave Julian Edelman a heartwarming send-off.

Tom Brady had a wonderful message from the heart for his former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, who announced his retirement from football on Monday after it was first reported that the team released the receiver due to a failed physical.

Late Monday night, after Edelman announced his retirement in a Twitter video, Brady posted a lengthy, passionate congratulations to his former wide receiver on Instagram, mere hours after NFL fans wondered if the receiver would join Brady in Tampa Bay.

“You had an amazing football journey, an amazing life journey in New England, and I have no doubt you will succeed in anything you choose to do next,” Brady’s message said.

Brady also posted a similar, yet smaller, message to Twitter.

Brady and Edelman have had an incredible connection on the field for the Patriots over the years. Edelman and Brady connected for 36 touchdowns, the third-most of any receiver the quarterback has thrown to.

Edelman won three Super Bowls, all alongside Brady, during his time in New England, retiring with historic numbers for the Patriots. During his 11-year Patriots career, Edelman amassed 6,822 receiving yards and 620 catches in 137 games played.

Current Patriots head coach Bill Belichick also released a warm statement on the end of Edelman’s career, calling his time in a New England uniform “historic” after their time together has come to an end.
