NFL history was made on Sunday when Tom Brady became the first quarterback to pass for 600 career touchdowns, but the real story is came after.
Not realizing the significance of the football he had caught in the first quarter for a touchdown, Tampa Bay Buccaneers receiver Mike Evans gave the ball away to a fan and the team had to negotiate with them to get it back. Said fan, Byron Kennedy, did give the football back to the team but did ask for a reasonable request of one round of golf with Brady as recompense.
While Kennedy won’t be receiving a round of golf, he is getting quite the haul with signed jerseys, credit to the Buccaneers team store, and even season tickets for this year and next. However, Kennedy did kind of get roasted by Brady himself on “Monday Night Football” when the quarterback joined the ManningCast in the second quarter.
Peyton Manning asked Brady up front what his plans were with the ball he got back when the Tampa Bay quarterback mentioned that he thought Kennedy lost any and all leverage he had when he forfeited up the ball. Ouch.

“Byron realized he lost all of his leverage once he gave the ball away. He should have held it and then had as much leverage as possible.”
Manning even called it an “amateur move,” twisting the knife in deeper. But hey, Brady is giving Kennedy a Bitcoin for his troubles, with one Bitcoin sitting at roughly $63,000 right now. Not too bad, all things considered!
