Tom Brady poked fun at the presidential election during Bucs’ White House visit

Tom Brady seemed to get a little political during his White House visit.

Tom Brady has mostly stayed out of the political arena since Donald Trump’s presidential campaign in 2016. But the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback, who was present at the White House for the team’s Super Bowl visit with President Joe Biden, dropped a joke with no shortage of political undertones.

Brady addressed the media during the Bucs’ White House trip.

“Not a lot of people think that we could have won. In fact, I think about 40 percent of the people still don’t think we won. You understand that, Mr. President?” Brady said Tuesday, shooting a smile to Biden.

It’s clearly a reference to Trump’s supporters who think Biden’s election victory was illegitimate, an unsubstantiated claim which has dismissed by both federal and state judges.

Here’s a look at Brady’s moment of solidarity with Biden.

Brady hasn’t revealed who he voted for in the 2016 or 2020 elections after initially expressing support for Trump. Brady’s wife Gisele Bundchen, however, has openly spoken against Trump, suggesting neither she nor Brady would back Trump in 2016.
