Tom Brady had the perfect response when the Buccaneers brought up his famous Lombardi Trophy toss

“This was my actual field of vision when I hucked that thing.” – Tom Brady

Tom Brady does not seem human.

This applies to his performance on the football field, sure. No player in history has won more Super Bowls than his seven or played in more postseason games than his 47 (FORTY. SEVEN). No quarterback has ever been this good in his 40s, let alone thrown for 5,300 yards at age 44.

It also applies to Brady off the field. His bizarre diet eschews strawberries and leans toward rewards like avocado ice cream. His custom-built, gluten-free, meatless meal plan kit looks like zero fun whatsoever.

So it was wild to see him act like a regular mid-40s dad for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Super Bowl 55 victory parade. Brady celebrated with liquor, partied with teammates and, at one point, launched the Vince Lombardi Trophy over the Hillsborough River to tight end Cameron Brate in a neighboring boat.

Brady told The Late, Late Show he “wasn’t thinking at the moment.” On Friday, after a prompt from the Bucs Twitter account showing a blurred trophy toss in Tampa, Brady confirmed he may not have had full control over his facilities during the parade:

Welp, that’s a perfect response from Touchdown Tom (or whomever he’s got expertly running his social media accounts). Fortunately for Brady, Brate caught the trophy and, not long after, backup quarterback Ryan Griffin helped walk him back to the team’s headquarters. He’ll have the chance to raise, then toss, another Lombardi Trophy in 2023 if he can will the Buccaneers back to the Super Bowl.
