Aside from the weather, Sunday’s broadcast of The Match on TNT was a tremendous success. Golf fans were treated to Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady all playing in a competitive setting for charity … with live mics and banter.
On top of that, Charles Barkley was thrown into the mix as a commentator. It was great. All of it was great, especially when it came to Barkley and Brady going back and forth.
As Brady struggled early in the round, Barkley offered to donate $50,000 if Brady could get his tee shot on the green (he did not). Then on seven, Barkley was jokingly talking trash on Brady’s golf game moments before the Buccaneers quarterback sunk a miracle birdie from 150 yards out.
Later that evening, Brady reacted on Twitter, poking fun at Barkley’s lack of championships.
I thought this was CHAMPIONS for charity Chuck…🤔 https://t.co/Vzu3xZQxOk

That’s cold, Tom. It’s safe to say he got back at Barkley with that one.
But hey, it all seemed in good fun, and the event raised around $20 million for COVID-19 relief.
