Tobias Harris wants Sixers to focus on Kevin Durant in matchup with Nets

Tobias Harris wants the Philadelphia 76ers to focus on Kevin Durant in their matchup with the Brooklyn Nets.

The Philadelphia 76ers will take on the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday for the second time in two weeks, and they will be looking for some revenge after taking a loss at Barclays Center on Dec. 16. The Nets were missing James Harden, Kyrie Irving, LaMarcus Aldridge and Joe Harris in that matchup and the loss was a result of a disappointing effort.

The Nets had Kevin Durant in that matchup, and he had a big fourth quarter to put the Sixers away. He finished with 34 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists, but he had 13 points in the fourth quarter. He converted a 4-point play with the game tied late and made a tough shot to put it away.

As the Sixers and the Nets match up again, Durant will return from the health and safety protocol — as will Harden and Aldridge — and Tobias Harris wants the Sixers to key on Durant in this one.

“Playing better defense on Kevin Durant for sure,” said Harris. “He was huge in that fourth quarter. We know they’re a high scoring team and offensively, we just got to find different spots where we can kind of put them in different positions and use our speed vs. them.”

The Sixers will have to worry about more than just Durant in this matchup as the Nets get healthier, but the focus has to remain on the superstar scorer with the game on the line. As the Sixers try to sweep this three-game road trip, he will be the focus of the game plan.
