Sometimes rookies are mischievious. They get a little bored and they do some things to get under the skin of the veterans on the team. That’s exactly what Philadelphia 76ers rookie Matisse Thybulle did to Tobias Harris when he went into his phone and took some selfies.
“I was just at my house yesterday and I see this guy taking pictures on my phone, it was funny,” Harris said.
The two then exchanged some jabs at each other on Twitter and Thybulle used a word that Harris did not like. Thybulle said the word “hate” and that trigged Harris to threaten the rookie with popcorn filled in his car.
Take it back or else the only thing you’ll hate for the rest of your life is popcorn 🍿😈😵 https://t.co/ZGWRoHi8Fw

“I told him, he used the word hate. That’s a strong word,” he explained. “I told him to take it back. I’ll wait and see if he gives me an apology, but if not, he’ll have popcorn for the next couple of years in his car.”
This is the natural relationship between the rookie and the veteran. Harris has been a big part of Thybulle’s development and he even took him under his wing while the rookie was injured as he quizzed him on a lot of different things.
It’s always good to have little jabs like this. It makes things fun over the grind of a long 82 games. [lawrence-related id=23010,23003,22990]
