Tennessee sophomore forward Tobe Awaka has been named to the 2023 USA Basketball U19 National Team.
Awaka was selected to the 12-man roster to compete in the FIBA U19 World Cup tournament. He was selected from a field of 25 players during tryouts held in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The team will compete in the World Cup June 24-July 2 in Hungary.
Awaka is one of two SEC players to make the final roster, joining incoming Vanderbilt transfer Allen Lubin.
Tennessee redshirt freshman Freddie Dilione V, was also in Team USA training camp and was a finalist for the 12-man roster.
Team USA, host Hungary, South Korea, Egypt, Canada, Argentina, Madagascar, Brazil, China, Slovenia, Turkey, Japan, Lebanon, Serbia and Spain will compete in the tournament field.
