With the 69th overall pick (third round) in the 2022 NFL draft, the Tennessee Titans selected Ohio State offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere.

The monstrous 6-foot-5, 316-pound tackle is the first offensive lineman the Titans have taken in this draft after going wide receiver (Treylon Burks) and cornerback (Roger McCreary) with their first two picks.

Tennessee entered the draft with a pair of needs along the offensive line at left guard and right tackle.

Petit-Frere could shore up the need at right tackle right away, which would allow 2021 second-round pick Dillon Radunz to slide over to left guard, where many believe will be his final landing spot in the NFL.

Looking ahead, Petit-Frere has experience playing at left tackle from his days in college, so he could be the future replacement for Taylor Lewan, who will enter the final year of his deal in 2023 and could become a cap casualty.

In all, this is a very good pick for the Titans and one that addresses a major need. I also wonder if this is a sign that Radunz will indeed move to left guard after being drafted as a tackle.

After this pick, the Titans have seven more selections, including one more in the third round (No. 90), and two apiece in the fourth (Nos. 131 and 143), fifth (Nos. 163 and 169) and sixth rounds (Nos. 204 and 219).
