Titans’ Ryan Stonehouse named ‘best punter’ by ESPN

In an article naming the best player at different skills, Titans punter Ryan Stonehouse was named the best at his position.

Over the course of his first two seasons in the NFL, Tennessee Titans punter Ryan Stonehouse has emerged as one of the best at his position.

After breaking the single-season record for yards per punt in 2022 with 53.1, the Colorado State product was leading the NFL in that category and had a chance to break his own record before suffering a season-ending injury.

In a recent article naming the best players in the league at different skills, Stonehouse was recognized as the “best punter” by ESPN’s Matt Bowen.

Stonehouse’s 53.1 yards per punt is the highest in the league, and he has also dropped 28 kicks inside the 20-yard line (51.9%, No. 1 in the NFL).

Somehow, Stonehouse did not get recognition in the “best leg” category, even though he quite literally has out-kicked every other player at his position over the last two seasons. That went to Las Vegas Raiders punter, A.J. Cole, who was averaging nearly two yards less per punt.

Nevertheless, the Titans have something special in Stonehouse, giving them one less thing to worry about going into a 2024 offseason that is sure to see plenty of change.
