Titans release TE Alize Mack from IR with injury settlement

On Monday, the Titans released TE Alize Mack from injured reserve with an injury settlement.

After an impressive training camp, tight end Alize Mack had a shot to make the Tennessee Titans’ initial 53-man roster but ended up suffering an injury, leading to his being waived with an injury designation on cutdown day.

After clearing waivers, Mack reverted to injured reserve with his unspecified injury, which would have forced him to miss the entire 2023 campaign.

However, according to the league’s transactions wire on Monday, Mack was released from injured reserve with an injury settlement, allowing him to sign with another team once healthy.

There is the potential for Mack to reunite with the Titans at some point, but he cannot do so until the length agreed upon in the injury settlement passes, plus three weeks.

If he never ends up back with the Titans down the road, Mack will always be remembered as the guy who caught passes off the JUGS machine from his back.
