Titans’ reasons for optimism and concern in Week 16 vs. 49ers

The possible return of A.J. Brown is a big reason for optimism for the Titans in Week 16.

The Tennessee Titans and San Francisco 49ers will meet in a Week 16 matchup on “Thursday Night Football” that could have massive playoff implications.

The Titans enter this game off a 19-13 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but they can still clinch the AFC South this week with a win and an Indianapolis Colts loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

As far as the No. 1 seed is concerned, Tennessee can re-claim the top spot with a victory and losses by the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots.

Meanwhile, the 49ers are sitting in third place in the NFC West but still have a slim chance to win the division. However, the better bet for San Fran is the wild-card race, where they hold the No. 6 spot going into this week.

The Titans have no shortage of concerns going into this game, but there are also some reasons for optimism that things will get better. We go over both sides of the coin right here, right now.
