Titans RB Derrick Henry will be ‘ready to go’ vs. Texans

Henry has his focus on helping the Titans win games as they enter the bottom of the season.

Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry is the heart of the team’s ground game, and one of the most important players they have on the roster.

He was unable to play for the entirety of last week’s contest against the Oakland Raiders with a hamstring issue, and missed two consecutive days of practice this week while dealing with the injury.

But according to the rusher, there’s no reason for concern — he fully intends to take the field this week as the Titans face the Houston Texans for the first time in the 2019 season.

I’ll be ready to go,” Henry said this week. “When Sunday comes, I’ll be ready to go.”

Henry was a limited participant in practices ahead of the game against the Raiders as well, but has his focus on helping the Titans win games as they enter the bottom of the season.

“As long as I am in the meetings and watching film and get a little bit of work I think I’ll be fine,” he said. “It’s football, you are going to have injuries, and things like that are going to come up. You have to play through them, and you have to be tough and have a great mentality, especially in the situation we’re in, I want to help my team finish.”

The Titans and Texans are set to kick off at noon CT on Sunday in Nissan Stadium.

The winner of the game will determine who sits atop the AFC South.
