Titans raised large sum of money for social justice issues in 2020

The Titans took action to combat social injustice in 2020.

The Tennessee Titans did their part to help with social injustice by raising over $130,000 throughout nine different charities during the 2020 season.

The money came from personal donations from the players and was then matched by The Titans foundation as part of the NFL’s Inspire Change initiative, according to Jim Wyatt of Titans Online.

“Serving the communities in our state and in our region in really a central tenet to the mission and culture of the Tennessee Titans,” said Adolpho Birch, Senior Vice President, Business Affairs & Chief Legal Officer with the Titans. “For us, it is not just about service, but it’s about service and giving with an impact. For us, 2020 represented everything we were looking to do in terms of our engagement, in terms of our giving, and in terms of our impact, we hope.

“Our players, in particular our players, were deeply impacted, and deeply moved by the events of this summer. And they have been active contributors to the conversation that has resulted from this summer’s events. … It represents the very best of what our players, our league, our organization can do on order to assist not only the citizens of this city, this state and this region, but our country.”

Among the nine charities to receive donations were 100 Black Men of Middle Tennessee, YWCA Amend Together, and Project Return.
