Titans place Darrynton Evans on IR, ending his 2021 season

The disappointing, injury-plagued start to Darrynton Evans’ career continues.

Tennessee Titans running back and 2020 third-round pick, Darrynton Evans, has been placed on Injured Reserve once again, but this time it will end his season, as players can only return from IR once.

Evans, who finally returned from an IR stint in Week 7 before re-injuring his knee versus the Kansas City Chiefs, practiced on Wednesday, was limited on Thursday, and then did not practice on Friday. It has been a rapid turn of events to say the least over the last few days for the 23-year-old back.

And the highly disappointing, injury-plagued start to Evans’ career continues. After missing 11 games during his rookie campaign, the Appalachian State product was limited to just one game this season.

On Friday, head coach Vrabel was asked what he’s seen from Evans since he had been back, to which Vrabel responded, “not enough.”

With Evans out for the season, the Titans are down to just two running backs on their roster in Derrick Henry and Jeremy McNichols. The team does have two backs on their practice squad in Dontrell Hilliard and Mekhi Sargent.
