Titans’ pass protection stats and grades from 2023 season

The 2023 pass protection report for the Titans.

As we continue to take a look at the Tennessee Titans’ overall stats from the 2023 campaign now that it is thankfully over, we’re moving on to the offensive line’s stats in pass protection.

Despite an overhaul of the offensive line last offseason, the 2023 group actually managed to be worse than the 2022 unit, with this year’s group surrendering a whopping 64 sacks, 15 more than last year’s. That mark ranked as tied for the fourth-most in the NFL, also.

The left tackle spot was the biggest issue, with both Andre Dillard (12) and Jaelyn Duncan (nine) combining for 21 sacks. Dillard’s total was tied for the most in the NFL among tackles, and Duncan’s ranked tied for fourth.

Bear in mind, neither lineman played a full slate of games. Dillard saw snaps on offense in just 12 of 17 contests, while Duncan didn’t see the field on offense in 10 games.

As bad as the run-blocking was, running back Derrick Henry still managed to tally 1,167 rushing yards, which was the second-most in the league. Rookie Tyjae Spears also managed to have a solid rookie campaign.

Now, a look at the pass protection stats and grades (according to Pro Football Focus) from each Titans player who saw a pass-blocking snap and gave up a pressure in 2023.
